The legendary SUV manufacturer, which gives the name for this entire car class, will be released in 2021 with 10 plug-in hybrids and 4 electric cars. Thus, all Jeep models will have an electric version by 2021 years. This became known from plans published for Jeep development, served by FCA concerns.
It is assumed that the company will produce at least two hybrids per year. All-electric will be the Wrangler SUV, the next generation Renegade and Cherokee crossover, and an updated Compass. Following Maserati and Alfa Romeo, the Jeep brand will also abandon diesel engines.
It appears that the carmaker FCA has opted for a full electrification tactic to keep pace with the leading players in the electric car race. In the near future, in addition to the electric Jeep, we will also see a new generation of electrically powered Fiat 500e: the electric car will have a station wagon model – Giardiniera, as well as a hybrid version of the 500L compact van and 500X crossover.
